...
oh my goodness, the songs i used to listen to when i was younger. then, i would cut out/copy the lyrics from the sunday paper and memorise them. it's kinda almost sad how i still know all the words to most backstreet boys songs ...
it's amazing how this i remember, but my otherwise sieve like memory can't be bothered to remember other stuff that was supposed to matter back then. in hindsight, what seemed like my mother's overreaction to my song book (it had so many songss it looked like a phonebook and she was so scandalized to find the lyrics for "i'll make love to you") seems perfectly reasonable. ghc i couldn't retain long enough to get that 90% and above she wanted but i could recite song lyrics like it was my job, haha. not to mention
*i still shudder at the thought that i used t believe this song was the business back in the day*
to my credit, i can't remember the names of the members of groups like 5ive, boyzone and take that even though countless nights were spent drooling at posters of them and memorising their bios (what else was there to do during prep time and the weekends?)
even though i am accused of being a music snob at times (for the love of all that's cute and cuddly ENOUGH of that lollipop song by lil wayne, it's ok and all that but must it be on repeat 24/7?) i am not above bubble gum pop. there are some songs that will always make me smile.
and even though i am known for liking things that are so bad they are good others all you can do is shake your head and be left speechless.
maybe i'm just getting ols and i'm out of the loop on some of these things but wtf? anyway, more on that later.

My exotic spice bear has returned!!!!!!!!!!All is well with the world today!
Boy bands are just blech! It's good to know they are fading away slowly but surely. As for the Lollipop song, my dear it isn't about confectionary; it's an analogy for a certain sexual act.
Other than that whack dance, the boda boda track is timam!
@ acolyte
you can thank insomnia for my being back to posting. for as long as sleep refuses to come to me i will be on the internet at 4 am rambling about nothing.
hehe, i was aware of the meaning of the lollipop song, im just sick of it. maybe its cos i feel its being shoved down my throat, its every where!
that boda boda song left me all "...". im not sure what was going on in the horrid video and the song is bleh. maybe i need to take a listen without the visual.
Spice!!! Karibu, I see someone else is turning into an insomniac?
You've brought a flood of memories! Wacha tu, the way I was a huge fan of backstreet boys. Not to mention New kids on the block. I can't believe those guys are on tour. Their tickets sold out in minutes, and I watched them perform on the Today Show and there's something weird about seeing grown mamas screaming and fawning over a boy band (whose members got uglier with age!)
meh, insomnia has been kicking my ass this week. and of course instead of doing something productive i decided to go down memory lane.
oh my goodness, how could i even have forgotten about nkotb? i just skim over articles about them, i am afraid to ruin the illusion i spent so long building up. and yeah, they do get less easy on the eyes as time goes on. ama maybe we just have better taste? lol, i don't know.
JEESUS.........my gash.....ningalijua you were a closet golden boy band fan ........MWATHANI!!!!!......true that 'bout the boda boda song..should be tied to a millstone and thrown into the deepest part of the ocean....together with all them boy bands! huzzah for their demise.....( and if you dare say anything about me liking some certain songs form a certain band we shall have words habibi)!!
WHAT?
@ mr teddy bear
ha! like i would share that you like ______ ! im saving that for when i need to black mail you and stuff. that alleged street cred of yours will suffer a serious blow.
